Efficient paint mist separation through integrated pre-separation
The Paintblock+ paint separator was specifically designed to enhance the performance of dry filter systems in paint shops. The integrated pre-separation removes coarse paint particles before they reach the actual filter stage.
The covers for the inlet and outlet openings can be combined to form a pre-separator, enabling a compact, dual-filter solution. This removes overspray from the process air at an early stage and significantly reduces the load on the downstream filter stage. This ensures more stable airflow, more uniform filter loading, and a significantly extended service life for the entire filter unit.
At the same time, paint mist separation efficiency is increased, maintenance requirements are reduced, replacement intervals are extended, and costs are sustainably lowered.
Flow-optimized design for better filter performance
The separators used in the Paintblock+ paint mist separator have been newly developed and feature optimized geometry. This improves airflow into and through the entire filter unit. This ensures a more uniform airflow, allowing paint particles to be separated precisely and efficiently.
The optimized design not only increases separation performance but also ensures controlled, uniform filter filling. At the same time, flow resistance is reduced, which is already evident in a lower initial differential pressure (Pa).
The result is reliable and cost-effective paint separation for industrial coating processes.
Full flexibility with one system
The Paintblock+ dry separator offers four flexible application options and adapts optimally to different conditions to achieve maximum efficiency.
Option 1: Use without a pre-separator
The Paintblock+ can be used without an integrated pre-separator. To do this, the covers of the inlet and outlet openings are removed and discarded. This gives you a flow-optimized Paintblock+ with new spacer technology.
Option 2: Pre-separator, angled baffle plate
The covers of the inlet and outlet openings can be assembled into an angled separation plate (similar to PaintGrid H). This variant is particularly well-suited for applications where overspray enters the filter unit from above.
Option 3: Pre-separator, front baffle plate
The outlet cover can be pre-folded at the designated point and combined with the inlet cover. This configuration is ideal when paint overspray hits the separator head-on or in so-called hotspot areas.
Option 4: Pre-separator, “Pyramid” add-on module
When opening the inlet, an additional pre-separation module (“Pyramid”) can be attached to the doors. This configuration is ideal when more than one baffle plate is required. How is the Paintblock+ installed?
The Paintblock+ is delivered as a pre-assembled unit and can be installed directly into existing exhaust walls. The integrated pre-separator is assembled using the removable covers or windows of the inlet and outlet openings, so no additional mounting components are required.

Where is the Paintblock+ used?
The Paintblock+ is used in industrial painting and coating systems with dry separation, such as paint booths, spray booths, and automated systems.
The Paintblock+ really comes into its own in systems where there is at least 20 cm of space in front of the inlet or filter wall. This clearance allows for the implementation of flexible pre-separation options (“Think outside the box”).
Tip: If you don’t have a measuring tape handy, a notepad will do: The short side of an A4 sheet or the long side of an A5 sheet is approximately 20 cm and helps you quickly check the available space.

The biggest advantage of the Paintblock+ lies in the combination of an impingement separator (inertial separator) and proven Paintblock technology in a single filter unit.
